Bring home the bacon!

2 John 1:8

"Watch out that you do not lose what you have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully."

So this morning we started bible study again, and as always it blew my socks off.  We are studying the "Honor’s Reward" by John Bevere, and God continues to shape and rearrange the things in my heart.

But today I want to share with you a verse that was in discussion.  2 John 1:8.  Here we see that John is writing to the elder of the young church.  He upholds them and shows them that they are doing things right.  But then he tells them that there will be heresies, lies, deception, and those who do not see that Christ came in the flesh.  He basically says that there will be areas where people will try to shipwreck you in your everyday life.

But in verse 8 he charges them and tells them to "watch out" for what they worked so hard for.  He tells them to keep it safe from attack.

In today’s society you can drive down the road minding your own business, and people will try to deceive you by a simple billboard.  Your friends can try to get you to cuss and make you walk sideways with Christ.  Your MySpace can throw up and add, or a comment from someone that can ’steal’ what you worked for the Sunday before.

It’s the small things that can creep in and destroy what John was talking about.  Yet he encourages us to watch out for what we have worked for.  Many of us may have be saved for some time now, and some of us only spiritual "newborns".  Yet in either way, we have worked hard to get where we are with our relationship with God.

Today may have been a rough day for you, but watch out and keep safe what you have worked hard for, your relationship with Christ.  Because when you do, God will fully reward you in the end.

So today, take courage and strength in Jesus Christ and allow him to direct you in all that you do!

Becasue the reward is greater for the win!
