FYI
You know what I love? I love those days when you get up and read the bible, and the same book…the same story…gives you something new.
Yesterday I was reading the book of Luke, and he begins to write the book in an unexpected way. You would think that he would just jump into the story of Christ, but he begins telling his friend Theophilus that he studied these things to a "T". There was no room left for error. It was the best he could do to get the story right.
Now you think about today, when a writer wants to compose a book they don’t merely throw together what comes to mind. They’d get sued! They have to quote people directly, use certain citation, and make sure their story has some resemblance of truth otherwise it would get thrown in the fire.
So let’s go back to Luke…If he poured his time into writing this account of Christ, I’m sure if there was anything in it that wasn’t true would have gotten thrown out. The same goes for the entire Bible. For hundreds of years this book has withstood scrutiny and demise. Yet as every page has been torn and combed over with history’s fine tooth comb, the book still stands.
Something has to be said about that!
My thought on it all…it’s not just a book. It truly is the Inspired Word of God!
So the next time you question something from the Bible is true, or it just doesn’t seem right…just remember that many have tried to burn its pages, but the book is still bound together.
Oh…and it has topped the charts as THE Best Seller! - Let that speak for itself!
