Ive been reading a lot in Isaiah lately.  And today I began reading chapter 11.  My eyes widened and I became engulfed in the words that spoke of Jesus Christ.  It was an image that I could paint in my mind.  And when the paint has dried, the last stroke has been made, the finished work is a glowing canvas of what Jesus Christ is.  All he is.  You see Isaiah never met Jesus.  This was way before Christ was even born.  But through what God had shown him, he knew the blueprint of the makeup of Jesus.  Read it…

Isaiah 11:2-5

 The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him—
     the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding,
     the Spirit of counsel and of power,
     the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD -

  and he will delight in the fear of the LORD.
     He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes,
     or decide by what he hears with his ears;

  but with righteousness he will judge the needy,
     with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth.
     He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth;
     with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked.

 Righteousness will be his belt
    and faithfulness the sash around his waist.

Wow…do you see it.  Isaiah painted a perfect image of Jesus Christ. Having never met Christ, he knew the character, the Spirit, the authority of Christ.  He knew the actions Jesus would take.  And in a few lines shows us who he is.

Keep reading it…. read, listen, watch…you will continue to see Christ appear all through out the Old testement.

Let me encourage you to just pick up your bible and start reading a book - And I guarantee you will begin to see the formation of a Savior before he arrives in the New Testament.
