Have you ever told God you were going to do something, and the day passed away, you got busy, and you didn’t do it?  Or maybe time wasn’t the issue, maybe you just forgot.  Or maybe you plain ‘ol just didn’t do it.

Many of us make comments to God —"well I’m going to change! Today’s my day"  — "I’m going to get to know you more, God." — Or something like this "Man, they need to hear about Jesus.  Next week…yeah…next Monday I’ll talk to them."

So many times, on different occasions, we come to God and we make promises but we never follow through.

Read the story of Jonah again. He made a promise to God.  A promise to be obedient as a prophet.  But when God gave him a word…he ran.  He didn’t hold up on his end of the deal.

Yet as we know, Jonah was swallowed up by the big fish, and in his seclusion, he realized where he messed up.

If you feel like you are secluded and nothing’s going right?  Ask yourself what the last promise was you made to God.  Then figure out if you followed through.

Jonah 2:9”What I have vowed I will make good.  Salvation comes from the Lord."

God is waiting for His people to commit to Him, and follow through.  If we haven’t, it’s time to make it good. And see that salvation comes from the Lord!
